2021 Issuer Engagement Report
Our 2021 ESG Issuer Engagement Report is now available! Most issuers we spoke to across corporate and municipal bond sectors have come to recognize the operational risks associated with climate change. Nevertheless, we found that they are still in the early stages of defining and setting strategies to mitigate, adapt to or become more resilient to the risks.

We are pleased to announce that the 2021 ESG Investing Awards has recognized Breckinridge as a top fund in its category of Best ESG Investment Fund: Fixed Income. These awards identify and reward the best companies involved in all areas of ESG investing across the globe, celebrating the best in research, ratings, funds and products.4
[1] Founded in 2002 and based in New York, the Gramercy Institute (GI) seeks to “to provide insight and information to senior marketers from the world’s leading financial brand while honoring and sharing the industry’s very best practices.” GI hosts more than 25 annual conferences, summits, forums, and award shows worldwide. GI also provides research, analysis, and consulting to the world’s top financial brands. The awards were based on data and content from the previous 18 months from the submission deadline. Breckinridge paid a fee for the submission. In 2021, company eligibility requirements for Best for the World 2021 hoors are: 1) Be a Certified B Corporation by the 1st of June 2021; 2) Companies holding the status of Pending B Corporation on the 1st of June 2021 are not eligible; 3) Companies awaiting a certification process to be completed by the 1st of June 2021 are not eligible; 4) Be in good standing - Not having any outstanding legal or financial requirements; and 5) Be no more than 12 months overdue on recertification by the 1st of June 2021. Any B Corps overdue recertification for up to 12 months must have already applied for the process. No fee was required to participate or win the Best for the World award but an annual fee is required to maintain B Corp certification status.
[3] The Investment Marketing and Innovation Awards are run by Investment Week and serve to honor excellence and innovation in investment marketing and content campaigns. Entrants in Content Marketing Campaign of the Year category should demonstrate the use of compelling content that has been able to engage the institutional financial services market. The campaign must include content that has helped achieve commercial or other objectives as well as resonating with the target audience. In addition to demonstrating creativity and innovation, submissions should produce evidence (preferably quantifiable) of impact in achieving engagement, return on investment or similar. Please tell us the aim of the campaign, the distribution strategy, and how the results were measured. The short list was announced on May 20, 2021. The awards timeframe is for the previous year. [4] The ESG Investing Awards are the only awards devoted to assessing and evaluating the best companies involved in all areas of ESG investing across the globe. They are designed exclusively for banks, investment managers, research houses, ratings agencies, index and ETF providers and exchanges. Awards categories are assessed by a panel of independent judges comprising financial market professionals, academics and independent experts. For each award category there will be a shortlist of nominees from which the judges then choose the winning entrant. The award is based on manager data from 2020. There is no fee paid to enter.
